Sure, a guard dog is a great idea. No one wants to mess with a ferocious beast of an animal. However, by protecting your family, you may cause problems in the neighborhood. Not to mention that you will not have to worry about a smaller dog terrorizing the kids on the block. You will most likely never face a lawsuit because your little dog attacked the guy next door.
The fact is, dogs are a great form of security for you and your family. They are great at letting you know that something is not right. They will alert you just like an alarm system in the middle of the night no matter how big or small.
